Academic Background
Mr Cartwright has two degrees in natural sciences, covering physics, chemistry, crystallography, and metallurgy. On graduating, he worked in artificial intelligence research for several years. He spent the next 25 years working in IT and corporate consulting, both with McKinsey and as a director of a small consulting business. Within IT, he has particular expertise in software engineering, program management, programming, optimization, machine learning, and predictive analytics. His corporate consulting work has covered a broad range of functions within financial services, utilities, retail, environment, and transportation.
Editing and Reviewing Experience
Mr Cartwright has more than 5 years’ experience working as a professional copyeditor, mostly on academic manuscripts. He has edited more than 30 academic books for Wiley, CUP, OUP, and others. He edits academic papers on a daily basis for several author agencies and journals and is a Professional Member of the CiEP (UK editing body). Mr Cartwright joined Edanz as an editor in 2023.
