Dr Walters-Stewart has experience in both academic and industry biomedical research and development. She has a multidisciplinary background that includes mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, medical biophysics, human kinetics, health sciences (physiology and neuroscience), algorithm development, prototype validation, and medical technology. She has experience using software such as MATLAB, Python, and SPSS.

Dr Walters-Stewart currently works as a freelance copy editor. She has 10+ years’ experience in academic research, academic publications, and freelance editing. She has worked as a freelance editor on multiple projects including research reports and government reports. She is familiar with AMA style and has a good understanding of statistical reporting. She has established documentation standards, workflows, and templates to efficiently ensure consistency from all members of her teams. In her role as an R&D Lead, she reviewed all technical documents for content and style, and has peer-reviewed academic manuscripts.
