Dr Peckmezian is a researcher and writer with a passion for translating complex themes in medicine, science and healthcare into meaningful content for diverse audiences. She has over 15 years of experience as a published scientific researcher and writer across academic, government and private sector institutions, where she has written and edited journal articles, literature reviews, educational medical content, encyclopedia articles, and government reports. Her doctoral research explored the mechanisms by which ‘simple’ invertebrate systems solve complex computational tasks, and focused on themes of visual perception, learning and memory. Some of her recent areas of focus include eating disorders, obesity, mental health, neuroscience, cognition, evolutionary biology and thyroid testing.
