    Academic Background

    Dr Storer is a biomedical research scientist with a background in clinical sciences, pharmaceutical development, neuroscience, organic chemistry, protein chemistry, enzymology, immunology, microbiology, virology, and infectious diseases. He has had more than 25 years of practical experience in conducting laboratory-based research using small animal models, neuroelectrophysiology, neuropharmacology, protein purification, monoclonal antibody production, and microbiology; supervising students from undergraduate to post-doctoral levels, and publishing high-impact work in international, peer-reviewed journals. Dr Storer currently teaches academic writing and publication ethics in postgraduate programs at the Faculty of Medicine at Chulalongkorn University and contributes to research programs in infectious diseases, including COVID. He previously trained and worked at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), the Institute of Neurology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, University College London (UCL), University of Sydney Royal North Shore Hospital Pain Management Research Institute, University of New South Wales (UNSW) Prince Henry Hospital, University of Adelaide Women's and Children's Hospital, and the Centre for Neurosciences at Flinders University of South Australia Medical Centre, and is a past and present member of numerous professional organizations and societies including the International Headache Society, Society for Neuroscience.

    Dr Storer has authored more than 36 peer-reviewed articles in international journals, including Brain, Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy, The Lancet Infectious Diseases, Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, Annals of Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobials, European Journal of Neuroscience, Scientific Reports, Cephalalgia, Headache, Annals of Neurology, British Journal of Pharmacology, Neuropharmacology, Neuroscience, and Clinical and Experimental Immunology, attracting more than 1800 citations. He has presented more than 45 abstracts at numerous international conferences, where he has been an invited speaker and session chairperson, and contributed to more than 60 book chapters, editorials, research reports for the pharmaceutical industry, and other creative works.

    Editing and Reviewing Experience

    Dr Storer has edited manuscripts for graduate students and colleagues at the Faculty of Medicine at Chulalongkorn University, one of Thailand’s premier institutions. He has edited over 5000 manuscripts, including as a consultant to ISO 9001 accredited language-editing companies, whose clients are professional biomedical and clinical investigators worldwide, especially in Thailand, Japan, Korea, and China. For a decade, Dr Storer was full-time coeditor-in-chief of Asian Biomedicine, an international journal indexed in PubMed, Clarivate’s Science Citation Index Expanded, among other databases, publishing peer-reviewed contributions in the biomedical and clinical sciences and is a member of the Asia-Pacific and World Associations of Medical Editors. He has served as a reviewer for international journals, including Cephalalgia, The Journal of Headache and Pain, Expert Opinion on Investigational Drugs, Nature Scientific Reports, and Brain. Dr Storer joined Edanz as an Editor in 2024.
