Academic Background
Dr Barnabe is a biochemist currently working in veterinary research, with a particular focus on equine immunology and endocrinology. She has previously conducted research on human infectious diseases and has spent time working in a drug discovery laboratory aiming to develop novel compounds against tuberculosis and malaria. Prior to her current research position at the Royal Veterinary College, Dr Barnabe gained experience as a scientist in the animal welfare charity sector. Her expertise includes biochemistry, pharmacology, cell biology, immunology, veterinary science, animal welfare, and the ethical review of animal studies.

She has also acted as a reviewer for the Equine Veterinary Journal. Dr Barnabe joined Edanz as an Editor and Medical Writer in 2024.
