Academic Background
Dr. Kahmeyer-Gabbe previously held a 4-year post-doctoral fellowship at the Department of Biochemistry, University of Hong Kong, where she performed a knockout of mouse hoxB3, a highly conserved gene important for morphological patterning during embryonic development. She obtained her PhD at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, USA. Her doctoral research focused on the regulation of transcription of bacteriophage Mu, one of the most widely studied mobile genetic elements.

Editing/Medical Writing Experience
Dr. Kahmeyer-Gabbe joined Elsevier Health Sciences as an editorial project manager in 2000, and went on to hold a regional managerial role. At Elsevier, she supervised the production of medical journals, textbooks, CME content and events, as well as sponsored publications including recurring topical newsletters, conference highlights, and patient education materials. She has been a freelance medical writer and copyeditor since 2007.
