Dr Schultz's background is in supramolecular chemistry based on novel synthetic methodology and molecular characterization. He has broad technical experience in sugar technology, food analysis, analytical chemistry, and mineral processing. Dr Schultz also has extensive copy editing experience, having worked as a professional copy editor for 10 years. His involvement in science publishing first began in 2001, when he accepted an in-house position with Springer-Verlag Tokyo. After his return to Australia to work as a research chemist in the Queensland sugar industry, Dr Schultz continued to work as a freelance editor. To date he has edited 10 books and over 2000 articles in the fields of materials science, plant pathology, toxicology, forestry, organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, environmental economics, and medicine. Dr Schultz joined the Edanz Group as an editor in 2012.
