Academic Background
Dr Grimshaw is a molecular biologist with experience in the fields of oncology, inflammation and vascular biology, and medicine and healthcare. The focus of his research career has been tumor biology and the effects of the tumor microenvironment—such as inflammation, hypoxia and the immune response—on the progression and treatment of cancer in animal models and patients. Dr Grimshaw now works as a freelance science consultant and has broad editing and writing experience in many diverse fields of biological and healthcare sciences.

Dr Grimshaw has authored more than 20 papers in high-impact journals including Cancer Research, the Journal of Immunology, Blood, and Clinical Cancer Research. He has also written several academic book chapters and reviews.
Editing and Reviewing Experience
Dr Grimshaw has been an editor for more than 10 years and has edited several thousand manuscripts and articles in diverse fields. As well as reviewing manuscripts for journals such as Cancer Research, he has consulted numerous research groups to assess their projects and data and to advise them on how to increase their project’s impact and maximize the chance of publication. Dr Grimshaw joined Edanz as an editor in 2024.
