Academic Background
Dr Baron has more than 20 years of experience as an academic and editor specializing in psychology. Her PhD was in the field of clinical neuropsychology, although her editing experience covers all social science fields as well as neuroscience, psychiatry, and medicine. As well as conducting her own research, she has supervised the doctoral research of numerous candidates studying for a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She has an MSc in research methods and has taught both quantitative and qualitative research methods at all levels, from undergraduate to doctoral. Dr Baron also spent a year as a post-doc developing measurement scales for use in clinical trials using psychometric techniques and Rasch analysis, and she has published several papers on scale development and validation.
Publishing History
Dr Baron has published more than a dozen papers in academic journals and has recently published an article in Science Editor on the use of AI in academic editing.
Editing Experience
Dr Baron has been a professional academic editor for more than 15 years, during which time she has edited thousands of papers across a broad range of academic fields. She has supervised many trainee editors and developed training courses to assist both new editors and experienced editors working outside their normal fields. Dr Baron joined Edanz as an editor and reviewer in 2016.
Writing experience
In addition to writing academic papers, Dr Baron has written blogs on scientific editing for both editors and editing clients.
