Dr Mulrooney graduated from the National University of Ireland with a PhD in English. An experienced teacher of English and French, she was an Advising Examiner for the Irish Department of Education and she works as a dissertation supervisor for Masters in Education students.

Dr Mulrooney has worked as a freelance copy editor for the past 9 years.
