Dr Milovanovic is a professor at the University of Belgrade - Faculty of Medicine, and is an affiliated scientist at the University of Hamburg. The main topics of his expertise are related to the musculoskeletal system, including bone structure, aging-related changes, function and viability of bone cells, fracture risk assessment, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, bone development, dental research, bone replacement materials, orthopedics, biomaterials, and biomechanics. These papers have been cited more than 1500 times. He also has more than 60 conference presentations, including those at leading European or international research societies.

Dr Milovanovic has served as an expert reviewer for several highly ranked journals in the field of medicine and leading funding agencies such as the German Research Foundation, European Commission, and Ludwig Boltzmann Society. He joined Edanz as a Research Consultant in 2017.
