Dr Hunt’s expertise unites public health and human physiology, focusing on understanding the effects of heat exposure and enabling people to work and live well in hot weather. He has over 15 years of experience conducting research with workforce and clinical populations, providing practical guidance for managing the risks of heat stress. His research experience encompasses laboratory-controlled trials, field studies, surveys, and predictive modeling, all published in high-ranking international peer-reviewed journals.
Publishing History
Dr Hunt has authored 35 peer-reviewed journal articles and more than 40 technical reports for government and industry partners. He was a guest editor for Frontiers in Physiology, and as a member of the Council of Science Editors (CSE), he was invited to be a Chapter Editor of the CSE Manual: Scientific Style and Format for Authors, Editors, and Publishers (9th edition). Dr Hunt has been invited to speak at various conferences, including the Implications of Climate Change for Regional Work and Organisational Resilience Symposium (2022), Science of Sport, Exercise, and Physical Activity in the Tropics (2016), and Body Sensor Networks (2013). He was on the scientific committee for the International Congress on Soldiers’ Physical Performance (2017) and the International Conference on Physical and Physiological Employment Standards (2012).

As a Freelance Academic Editor since 2020, he has focused on preparing journal articles for submission to international journals listed in the highly respected Science Citation Index. Papers he has edited have been published in high-ranking journals, such as Heart, BMC Infectious Diseases, Disability and Rehabilitation, Cancer Science, Clinical and Translational Gastroenterology, Scientific Reports, Global Health Action, Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, American Journal of Cancer Research, International Journal of Clinical Practice, Neurological Sciences, and Biomedical and Environmental Sciences.
