    Academic Background

    Dr Swift has a range of first-hand research experience across biological, medical, pre-clinical, and healthcare fields. She has particular expertise in the fields of cancer, immunotherapy, viruses, infectious diseases, personalized medicine, genomics, microbiology, immunology, and vaccines. She has experience of performing in-depth data analysis using tools such as GraphPad Prism and Excel. She also has more than 4 years of experience in systematic reviews and evidence synthesis for major pharmaceutical companies. She has worked on traditional systematic literature reviews, rapid reviews, living systematic reviews, scoping reviews, critical appraisals, and more. She has experience of meta-analysis using Review Manager. Dr Swift previously worked as part of an Evidence Review Group reviewing Health Technology Assessment submissions for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE; UK). She is competent in reviewing single technology appraisals, multiple technology appraisals, and highly specialized technology appraisals.

    Publishing History

    Dr Swift has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications, seven as first or co-first author, in journals including PLOS Pathogens, the Journal of Clinical Epidemiology, Molecular Therapy, Blood, and Expert Review of Vaccines. She has presented data at several international conferences and has been an invited speaker at the American Association of Immunologists (AAI) Annual Meeting and the Cochrane Colloquium.

    Editing and Reviewing Experience

    Dr Swift has edited manuscripts for both students and colleagues at previous academic institutions; she has also reviewed and edited a range of pharmaceutical documents positioned to emphasize the impact of new interventions or diagnostic tools for market access purposes. She previously worked as a statistical reviewer for Swiss Medical Weekly.

    Writing Experience

    Dr Swift has experience writing a range of academic and commercial pharmaceutical documents, including original research manuscripts, grant applications, book chapters, and market access documents. She can help companies plan, design, run, and analyze pre-clinical and clinical studies that are robust, transparent, and reproducible, particularly to support submissions to Health Technology Agencies such as NICE and Health Canada. In systematic reviews and evidence synthesis, Dr Swift is experienced at registering systematic reviews on PROSPERO; performing robust, transparent, and reproducible literature searches across a variety of conventional and gray sources; creating and working with large libraries; designing inclusion screening sheets, data extraction sheets, and organizing large datasets; selecting appropriate tools to assess the quality of original research or systematic reviews; selecting and following reporting; and writing and publishing large systematic reviews from start to finish.
