    Academic Background

    Dr Wilson has a degree in biochemistry and a PhD in molecular biology. Her doctoral thesis focused on the characterization of polycomb-group genes from Antirrhinum majus and Arabidopsis thaliana.

    Editing and Reviewing Experience

    Dr Wilson has 14 years of experience editing journal articles in translational and clinical medicine. Initially, she worked as a Technical Editor for the European Respiratory Society for 5 years. In this role, she edited the European Respiratory Journal and coordinated the production of several high-profile reports on tobacco control. She then worked for the Nature Publishing Group (now Springer Nature) in London, initially as a Copy Editor in the Nature Clinical Reviews Department and then as the Associate Editor of Nature Reviews Endocrinology. During 5 years in this role, she developmentally edited, commissioned, and organized the peer review process for journal content. Dr Wilson also has several years of experience as a freelance medical editor. She has expertise in editing articles in the fields of endocrinology, diabetes, metabolism, and public health from authors whose first language is not English. Dr Wilson joined Edanz as a freelance editor in 2022.

    Writing Experience

    As an Associate Editor of Nature Reviews Endocrinology until 2013, Dr Wilson wrote more than 100 short articles on research advances in endocrinology.
