    Academic Background

    Dr Crow has a PhD in Molecular Biology from Northwestern University, where her doctoral work focused on the structural basis of prion propagation in yeast. Prior to her degree, she studied bacterial pathogenesis and parasitology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. In addition to her training in molecular biology and microbiology, she has a keen interest in epigenetic inheritance, international health and maternal and fetal medicine.

    Publishing History

    Dr Crow published multiple articles during her time at the bench, including three as first author, and presented her work at several local and international conferences.

    Editing Experience

    Dr Crow has been a freelance scientific editor since 2010, providing copyediting, writing, and project management services for a variety of scientific publishers. In addition, she gained a deep knowledge of the scientific publication industry during her time as a journals editor with BioMed Central and as a content editor with the Nature Publishing Group. She also has considerable experience in translating scientific texts and working with scientists for whom English is not a first language. Dr Crow joined Edanz Group as an editor in 2018.

    Reviewing Experience

    Dr Crow oversaw the peer review process for a portfolio of six BioMed Central biomedical journals.
