Academic Background
After graduating from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Dr Wetzel completed a neurological surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh. He conducted laboratory and clinical research at both institutions and co-authored numerous publications and conference proceedings. Dr Wetzel was appointed a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh in 2006 and certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery in 2009. He retired in 2016 after ten years of clinical practice.
Publishing History
Dr Wetzel has authored three peer-reviewed papers, one as first author, in Neurosurgery and the Journal of Neurosurgery. His research has also been presented as conference proceedings at national meetings of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
Editing and Reviewing Experience
To use his knowledge and experience to help non-native English speakers communicate their research, Dr Wetzel began medical editing in 2018. He joined Edanz Group as an editor in 2020.
