    Academic Background

    Dr Barrett is a board-certified veterinary oncologist who completed her medical oncology residency at Tufts University in 2019. With over 10 years of experience in veterinary oncology across academic and private practice settings, she brings expertise in clinical trials and basic science research across both veterinary and human oncology. Dr Barrett is currently an Associate Professor at VetAgro Sup, the veterinary school of the University of Lyon, France.

    Dr Barrett has authored multiple peer-reviewed papers in journals including Veterinary & Comparative Oncology, BMC Veterinary Research, and the Journal of Small Animal Practice. She has also presented at several international conferences.

    Editing and Reviewing Experience

    A native English speaker, Dr Barrett has extensive experience editing scientific manuscripts for grammar, conciseness, and clarity. She has assisted students, residents, and colleagues at her institution in France with both content and English language editing. In addition, she serves as a reviewer for multiple French veterinary monthly journals, contributing her expertise to ensure high-quality publications. Dr Barrett joined Edanz as an editor in 2024.

    In addition to her published works, Dr Barrett has experience writing and editing clinical trial protocols through prior work at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office. She has also written a book chapter on immunotherapy in veterinary medicine (not yet published).
