2001 - PhD Chemistry, University of Delaware
1988 - BSc Chemistry, University of Delaware
Academic Background
Dr Glatfelter conducted her doctorate research on solid-state NMR studies of lead complexes, and her PhD research involved some physical chemistry. She has experience in synthesis of organic, inorganic, and organometallic molecules. She has worked as a professor for many years, teaching and lecturing in general, organic, and inorganic chemistry. In addition, she has tutored algebra. Before entering a graduate degree program but after receiving her bachelor's degree in chemistry, Dr Glatfelter worked for five years at DuPont as a research technician, synthesizing and characterizing transition metal catalysts, polyampholites, and comb polymers, using various spectroscopic techniques and differential scanning calorimetry.
Publishing History
Dr Glatfelter has authored seven papers in peer-reviewed journals and one chapter in the Encyclopedia of Spectroscopy and Spectrometry. In addition, she has presented posters at three national conferences and given an oral presentation at one.
Editing and Reviewing Experience
Dr Glatfelter worked for three years as an editor on a contract basis for Physical Science Editing, during which time she edited ten papers. She has also edited theses for colleagues during graduate school, and a variety of scientific patents and papers for supervisors and colleagues while at DuPont and in academia since receiving her PhD. She has served as a reviewer for one article for a peer-reviewed journal. Dr Glatfelter joined Edanz Group as an editor in 2020.
Writing Experience
In addition to her graduate dissertation, Dr Glatfelter was the primary author of two papers in peer-reviewed journals.
