    Dr Heavner is currently a freelance editor and epidemiologist. She was most recently employed at the School of Public Health, Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, Drexel University, as a research associate. She had previously completed postdoctoral fellowships at Drexel University and the University of Alberta and spent 5 years conducting HIV/AIDS research and program evaluation at the AIDS Institute of the New York State Department of Health. She has conducted research on epidemiology methods, environmental and occupational epidemiology, cancer epidemiology, autism spectrum disease, HIV/AIDS, and viral hepatitis. Dr Heavner has co-authored one book chapter and over 15 articles published in peer reviewed journals, and she has given more than 30 presentations at professional conferences. She was managing editor of Epidemiology Perspectives and Innovations for two years and has served as a peer reviewer for two public health journals and several public health conferences. Dr Heavner joined Edanz Group as an editor in 2016.
