Academic Background
Dr Murray is a molecular pharmacologist and pharmaceutical scientist with interests in drug metabolism, drug disposition and clinical pharmacogenetics, and anticancer drug design. His PhD research at the University of Sydney used medicinal chemistry and biochemical methods to evaluate novel CYP inhibitors. He has also published extensively in the fields of endocrinology and hepatology with a focus on disease mechanisms, cell signaling, human gene regulation, and drug therapy. He has held appointments at Cornell, Oxford, Storr Liver Unit, and The Heart Research Institute. He was awarded a DSc (Sydney) for research into the molecular regulation and modulation of CYPs in health and disease.

Dr Murray has extensive publishing experience. Of his 236 scientific articles, many are in high profile international journals (e.g., New England Journal of Medicine, Blood, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, British Journal of Pharmacology, Chemical Science, and Pharmacological Reviews; ~10,000 citations).
Editing and Reviewing Experience
Dr Murray has served on the editorial boards of eight journals and has provided reviews for >100 journals and international funding agencies. He joined Edanz as an editor in 2022.
Writing Experience
In addition to his publication record, Dr Murray has written and been awarded 87 research grants since 1987 and has delivered more than 90 invited research lectures and seminars. He has also supervised 40 postgraduate students and assisted them with thesis preparation.
