Dr Muir’s PhD studies investigated the synthesis and NMR conformational analysis of glycosylated angiotensin II analogues. As a research associate at the University of Auckland, Dr Muir specialized in bioorganic and medicinal chemistry, in particular peptide and glycopeptide chemistry and the construction of synthetic vaccines. Dr Muir has also worked as a science and intellectual property writer for a biotechnology company gaining experience in neuroscience and endocrinology (diabetes and growth hormone research). Most recently, she has worked in science communications, first as Managing Editor of a business intelligence database of pharmaceuticals in development and later writing and editing drug reviews for peer-reviewed journals. She joined the Edanz Group as an editor in 2013.
