Dr Harman is an interdisciplinary social scientist with extensive editing, writing, and proofreading experience. While earning her doctorate, she drew on many social science, behavioral science, and humanities disciplines, including sociology, psychology, philosophy, critical health psychology, sport history, exercise science, social psychology, cultural studies, gender studies, epidemiology, and social/affective neuroscience. For 21 years prior to doing her PhD, Dr Harman worked in various professional capacities in the printing, publishing, and creative industries, the majority of these roles involving editing and proofreading responsibilities. Throughout her pre-academic professional life, Dr Harman had the opportunity to work closely with clients from around the world and frequently traveled for extended periods throughout Asia and Europe. Her Jewish History degree from University College London fueled her subsequent interest in culture and language. Her Master’s in Educational and Social Research provided a valuable foundation in methods, exposure to a wide range of social and educational theories, and familiarity with the debates surrounding the philosophy of science. She has authored seven publications, and has maintained a deep personal and professional interest in cross-disciplinary approaches to understanding emotions and embodiment, and qualitative and visual methodologies. She joined Edanz Group as an editor in May 2015
