Academic Background
Dr Goulston’s scholarly background spans organizational and human psychology, business and marketing, health sciences, development studies, and journalism. His research quantitatively assessed remote work’s impact on well-being from a cross-cultural perspective and amid changing work paradigms. He has also researched interventions for cross-border infectious disease transmission, integrated global marketing strategies for transnational companies, and sustainable IT implementation in developing countries.
Editing Experience
Dr Goulston owns an Asia-based science marketing company with clients ranging from technology and medical firms to NGOs and individual researchers. He is also a Board-certified Editor in the Life Sciences (ELS) and has worked as an in-house Senior Language Editor in Edanz’s Japan office; an Editor/Translator for companies and scholars; and an Editor with an independent research arm of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan. Dr Goulston has edited and written in areas including economics and business, social sciences, and health sciences. Proficient in Japanese and with translation experience, he has a strong understanding of ESL/EFL authors and their writing styles, and he is well-versed in their challenges in communicating science to global audiences.
