    Academic Background

    Dr Reid is a biologist with a background in ecology. She has more than 15 years of experience in conducting field studies, and publishing work in international journals. Dr Reid has recently completed a study of the interactions between kea (Nestor notabilis) and domestic sheep in New Zealand, and the associated human-wildlife conflict. This study involved studying kea behavior in situ, as well as surveying high country sheep stations and farmers to examine the extent of kea attacks on sheep. Dr Reid is knowledgeable in ornithology, animal behavior, human-wildlife conflict, conservation biology, zoology, and ecology.

    Publishing History

    Dr Reid has authored six peer-reviewed papers, two as first author, in journals including Behaviour and the Journal of Wildlife Diseases. She has presented at a number of international conferences, including the International Ornithological Congress and the Wildlife Disease Association Conference.

    Editing and Reviewing Experience

    Dr Reid has edited scientific manuscripts for both international and New Zealand-based academics. She has also edited technical government documents and a scientific book manuscript, and been a reviewer for the journal Notornis. Dr Reid joined Edanz Group as an editor in 2019.

    Writing Experience

    Dr Reid has worked as a scientific writer for the New Zealand Department of Conservation, authoring peer-reviewed scientific publications and contributing to technical documents.
